creative art has been a huge part of my life, from writing and freestyling raps with other kids on the school bus, to choreographing nationally competitive dances while in college. however, after college, i took a desk job where my creative outlet became spreadsheets and memorandums, until i mustered enough courage and savings. bought a camera, went on vacation with friends. and rekindled my creative outlet with every picture taken.
through my background as an adolescent amateur rapper and young college dancer, i like to use my art to tell a story, make other people relate emotionally to an event without actually being there. because in a day where our bodies, culture and life are distorted through poses, edits and filters, a candid image is significant. its power unveils the mask of social media, presenting an observational view free from the control of its participants. its grasp pauses a vanishing moment. its authenticity purifies the occasion, depicting a story struggled to see while engulfed within them.
